About Densha Pins

I've always been fascinated by Japanese trains – not just the look of them, but the feeling they create. The precision. The rhythm. The way each line has its own identity and personality.

In 2023, I travelled to Japan for the first time. I thought I knew what to expect from the photos and videos I'd seen over the years – but nothing compared to actually standing on those platforms. Watching a Keikyu N1000 Series blaze past in a flash of red, or hearing the chime of a rural station as a quiet commuter train rolled in, it all hit differently. It wasn't just admiration anymore – it felt like coming home to something I'd loved my whole life.

When I returned to the UK, that feeling stayed with me. I wanted a way to hold onto it – and to share it with others who feel the same connection to Japan and its railways. Something small, collectible and crafted with intention. That's how Densha Pins began.

Every pin starts as a hand-drawn illustration based on a real Japanese train. I sketch each detail myself – the subtle shapes that make each series of train unique. The pins are then produced in small batches checked individually and packaged by hand so every order feels personal.

Densha Pins isn't just merchandise. It's a celebration of those same railways that inspired me, and now you can carry a piece of Japan's railways with you, wherever you are.
